The DIY Way To Stop Stuttering

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Stuttering is a speech disorder where the individual’s natural flow of speech is disrupted by frequent repetitions or prolongations of certain sounds, syllables and words. Sometimes, this makes it impossible to even start a word. A person who stutters can also experience rapid eye blinks, trembling lips and jaw and sometimes, the upper body. There is no certain cause of stuttering but experts say things can get worse because of stress. According to them, one of the best ways on how to stop stuttering is to learn how to manage stress.

I have a classmate once in elementary grade who stutters when he tried to speak in front of the class when the teacher tells us to do so. He will start to shake and tremble, stare down on the floor, both hands clasped against each other, he starts to blurt out something but stammers and before you know it, he breaks down in tears and cries silently. Now, after 25 years, we met again in our general alumni homecoming and we were all surprised that he doesn’t stutter anymore. He had found a way to stop stuttering and we were even more surprised when he told us he just learned how to do that just a few months back.

My goodness, I said to myself, how can he ever get through life when he was stuttering all this time? Well, I don’t know the answer but I’m sure was glad to find out that he had learned how to stop stuttering and according to him, he had done it in a natural and safe way- no drugs. He added he had found a remedy online. He related to us how he had learned of this Stop Stuttering System, a combination of a book and a video course and how it had helped him get rid of his problem the soonest possible time. We were even more surprised when he went onstage and read a letter from one of our dear teachers congratulating us.

Have you heard about the latest therapy for stammering? Now this is not your usual treatment via your local speech and language therapist, this is what is known as “specialist stammering treatment”. Why? The reason for this is because the speech coach is a person that has previously had a stammer.

Stephen Hill was just four years of age when he started to stammer. Despite attending the many different forms of speech and language therapy classes for many years the stammer continued to plague his life until he was aged twenty-two.

Mr Hill had a single life-time goal or ambition which was to some how achieve fluency. Steve was told by his local speech and language therapist that there was not a cure for stammering but despite this he continued on his quest to achieve fluency.

He was informed on numerous occasions that there is not a cure for stammering however Steve just would not accept second best in life. He truly believes that there is only one way that a person should think, positively.

At the age of twenty-two Mr Hill managed to achieve his goal of fluency after working extremely hard to formulate a set of “how to stop stammering techniques”.

He now teaches these techniques to other people who stutter and does this via a one-to-one speech course. There are also a number of self-help stop stammering therapy options available for those people who are unable to attend a course; these include an audio-book, an e-book and a DVD.

Stammering and Stuttering affects many people from all over the world. There are many ways to approach such a issue and it is always a good idea to do as much research as possible.

There is full back up provided where people are able to telephone Steve to ask him any questions that arise.

Steve:

“In the past I often dreamt about what life would be like as a fluent person. Now that I am able to speak free from the fear of stuttering I have to say that it feels even better than what I had imagined to be. I am now able to reach my full potentail in life”.
