You Should Not Have To Be Ashamed Of Your Acne Scars Ever Again

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

All of us go through our teenage years knowing that somehow this seems as if it is the most difficult time of our lives. It is not just a person thinking that way, in many respects it is the most confusing time for a person as they seem to be stuck somewhere between being an adult and a child. The skin often bears the brunt of this and acne scars can result.

As if being able to get through your teenage years was not difficult enough, there are many people that have to then deal with the fact that they are going to have scars for the rest of their lives. Acne scars are caused by having a lot of pimples and then people scratching or picking at the pimples.

One does not think about this too much if you perhaps have just a couple of spots, but you are likely to see that hindsight is twenty twenty and no doubt you will realise that you should have left the blemishes alone. Now if one thinks about how many pimples acne causes then it is clear that the impact of scratching is compounded. Many people are likely to find that they will have these reminders for a very long time and it can lead to low self esteem.

These marks then serve as a constant physical reminder of what is essentially an emotional pain and it can become very difficult to deal with, especially later in life. As a result of this, people are often terribly insecure and they try to find any way possible to hide their scars. It doesn’t often work in the way that they might hope.

They will often find that they wear too much make up and this will actually just lead to a further build up on toxins on the skin. Make up can definitely help but one does need to know what the best way of putting on make up is. In this way they could get better results.

Too much make up can make one appear worse in many situations and it is very important that people are made aware of the fact that there are indeed remedies for acne scars these days. There are a lot of creams that one can  use and they will help build up the skin’s elasticity again and there are also those that  will have the combined impact of taking away the scar.

There is hope out there and people do not need to feel as if there is no way they can get rid of their acne scars. So there is a lot of work that needs to be done to educate more people about what there is to help them.

Acne Scar Removal

Acne Scars develop if an infection develops in acne and the skin heals itself just enough to remain healthy but leaves pigmented and / or pitted marks on the affected area, they can be very difficult and dear to treat.

Most treatments for acne scars can be bought over the counter ranging from skin creams to skin needling. The most regularly used treatments for acne scars are the creams or skin masks which can (but not always) be affective but take a long time for the results to begin to show as a big percentage of these creams don’t get absorbed by the skin. Therefore creams are often wasted and so are not economical.

An alternative gadget that can be used for acne scar removal is the collagen roller. This is a roller for microneedling; you roll the derma-roller over the scarred area of skin opening the pores of your epidermis (top layer of skin) causing it to believe that it is injured triggering the production of collagen and elastin which heals the skin over time.

After using the derma roller the pores on the top layer of skin (epidermis) remain open for as long as making this the best time to put on creams as they are a lot better absorbed when the pores are open as opposed to when the pores are closed. This reduces the waste in creams and boosts the effectiveness of the derma roller.

There are more extreme methods to get rid of acne scars however these are all expensive and have to be carried out by professionals and then they’re not even guaranteed to work! These include; Micro dermabrasion, laser treatments, chemical peals and also skin needling can be done by a professional more vigorously using a longer needle size and numbing cream.

In my experience in treating acne scars I have found that the most result effective and cost effective treatment is derma rolling at home as it is relatively cheap and as it works by inducing the healing process is the most natural way to heal acne scars.
